Unwilling to bow down before the authority, producer Sandra Thomas has approached the court after she was disqualified from contesting in the forthcoming Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) elections. Meanwhile, she has also stepped forward, alleging that Malayalam megastar Mammootty contacted her recently, urging her to withdraw the legal case. She also claimed that he backed out of a film that they had planned together after that.
After making headlines late last month by arriving at the KFPA office in Kochi wearing a black purdah to file her nomination papers, Sandra has become a hot topic in Kerala once again after she locked horns with the association’s office bearers over the rejection of her nomination. Maintaining that her papers were rejected simply because the current leadership feared she might win the upcoming executive committee elections scheduled for August 14, she took a swipe at the KFPA president Anto Joseph, alleging that he behaves like one of Mammootty’s “house-helps”. Furthermore, Sandra asserted that she has received full support from those close to superstar Mohanlal.
