As part of the Navaratri celebrations, the Kerala government has declared a public holiday on September 30 across the state. The holiday applies to all government, semi-government, and public sector institutions, as well as organizations operating under the Negotiable Instruments Act and professional colleges, including all educational institutions. The holiday has been declared in observance of Durga Ashtami on September 30, which falls on a Tuesday.
In addition to this, the government has also declared public holidays for Mahanavami on October 1, Vijayadashami on October 2, and Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Hence, the government has granted a total of three days of public holidays for the Navaratri festivities.
The government’s order also specifies that officials associated with the Legislative Assembly should carry out their duties diligently, as the Legislative Assembly session will be held on September 30. Office heads are directed to ensure that the necessary arrangements are made for this.
